Hmm.. Where to begin?
Well, lately I feel like my stage of being "in denial" that he is gone for 2 whole years is starting to wear off. I feel like the first day is terrible, you know what's coming.. you know that you won't see him again for a long time. The first few weeks are definitely an adjustment. No good morning or goodnight text messages, no texts throughout the day, no spontaneous or scheduled dates... it's all on pause right now. Because he is GONE. Okay, that really does sound way too harsh. And my heart trembled when I typed that.. But he's away, and those things just can't happen anymore for a while. And lately, it's starting to TRULY set in. I'm not going to see my best friend for 730 days. WOW.
Well, P-Days are lovely as always. I'm just so blessed I cannot say it enough. I love my sweetheart and all of the reassurance & love that he gives me!!
So far I've gotten two letters and he will be out for a month in 2 days! I'm excited to finally be a month in. I feel like one week flew by then one week went slow.. it was like a crazy pattern! One thing I've realized: One month is a long but very short frame of time. I will be so happy to finally say goodbye to month one shortly!!! :)
No more MTC for this Elder!!
Elder Mejia is currently in Buhl, Idaho (specifically) and is officially in the mission field of Twin Falls, Idaho as of January 6, 2015!! His first companion is Elder Dickerson!
Elder Dickerson on the left, and my Elder Mejia on the right! <3
I'm super proud of my Elder. He already told me about a man named Alfredo that he helped translate to the bishop for. The bishop told my missionary that he knew instantly that there was a connection for them. It's beautiful that the Lord prepares people to be helped and prepares them to receive the gospel. :) I love it! And I love that my sweetheart is out there doing the Lord's work! There is no better thing to be doing than to be working for our Father in Heaven and bringing His people to Christ!! I love my Savior and I want everyone to feel the same way. I'm so happy he is out there sharing the love of Christ!
I think it's SUPER cute that he took this picture and sent it to me! I work at Chick-fil-A here at home and he is still enjoying it in Idaho!! Even though I work there, it's our favorite place to eat!! (When we are not getting fancy and eating at Olive Garden, that is..)
It's still a bit overwhelming I feel like now that our communication is at an all time low almost! I feel like I send so many things and ask so many questions... and he can't get to them all right away! Which is okay! But I'm just so excited for my best friend and want to know everything every second!! haha. Still adjusting...
That's all for right now! See you in 2 days for a ONE MONTH post! ;)
